Default Dads Day Out 16th May 2010 - Ride in a Supercar at Dunsfold

It's back, and it's going to be even better than 2009.

We had over 4,000 people at the last event with 700 rides from 100 or so supercars.

This year the event is on Sunday May 16th and we've been given the go ahead to drive for longer which means more rides and more action all day long.

*
We have over 500 cars on static display from a variety of different owners clubs so thank you to everyone who is coming down.

Of course if you’ve not booked your display pass yet please do so prior to the event via this link
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...Display+ticket

We have added a few more attractions to the day and there are still more coming all the time.

So as it stands, in addition to the Supercar rides, we have;

3 driver training areas
1. the Caterham drift experience, you can be a passenger in a Caterham as they drift and donut around a specially designated circuit
2. The Performance driver training area, take the wheel of your own car with a Roadcraft instructor next to you to hone and enhance your skills, a must for anyone with a performance car, it’s the only performance enhancement you take with you whatever car you drive!
3. The new drivers training area. Anyone from the age of 14 upwards can take the wheel of specially modified cars to have their first experience of driving on a private road within the Dunsfold complex. Highly trained instructors will ensure the first experience of driving is a positive one. This is also open to those who simply want to brush up their skills

All the above events are available to book online here
http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/...&month=&page=3

Within the event arena we will have spectacular stunts from:
  • East Coast FMX display team at 12.00-12.30pm and 2.00-2.30pm
  • M.A.D. -the UK's number 1 mountainbike stunt & display team at 11.00am, 1.30pm and 4.00pm
Plus Dunsfold Fire Brigade will demonstrate their life-saving techniques and equipment by responding to a staged Road Traffic Collision at approx 11.30am and 1.45pm
Other attractions include:
  • Kids Zone with Roary the Racing Car & Big Chris plus a craft table where children can decorate their own race car to take home, face painting, balloon modeling and Cub Carts for 3-9 year olds
  • Helicopter rides from Elite Helicopters- £35 per adult & £30 per child- these can be booked at the event
  • Live music from The Lettuceheads, The Deccas & Sarah Blackwood throughout the day
  • Routemaster bus rides to transport you in style from the carpark to the event arena
  • Fire Engine rides for children, these can be booked at the event
  • Land Train and Fairground rides
  • Simulator with following experiences: Red Arrows, Ski, Car Rally, Astro Canyon, Glacier Run, Pepsi Max Roller coaster & many more
  • Models Zone with Slot car competiton provided by Slot 32, model aeroplanes and helicopters from Addlestone Models, model boats from Springbok Mariners Model Boat Club and model car stalls
  • Automobile-themed catering bars from DW Mobile Catering Bars
  • Static display of over 500 classic & sports cars including a Jordan F1 Racing Car plus a number of aircraft including Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk & Air Support Unit

So it’s shaping up to be a great day, we’ve all worked really hard to make this day as fun as we can and of course to raise as much as we can for The Children’s Trust. Thank you again for all the help and support, just by turning up you’re helping to make all our efforts worthwhile.
We’re still adding stands and stalls to the day so if anyone has a related product and would like to take a stand please contact me and I will put you in touch with the contact at The Children’s Trust

More and more will be added as the time gets nearer so check back to see what exciting stuff we have in store for you

The cars will include a mix of:
  • Ferraris
  • Lamborghinis
  • Dodge Vipers
  • Ariel Atoms
  • KTM Crossbows
  • AC Cobras and a few special guests too
Entrance is:
£7 for Adults
£3 for children
£15 family ticket
£20 standard supercar rides (2 high speed passenger laps)
Blue Ribband cars (Atom/X-bow F40, F50 CGT, Zonda, Enzo etc) will be extra...buy a standard ticket and upgrade on the day.

If you're driving a soft top with the roof up, the storm outside better have a name.

This was much fun last year and the only reason I met you guys! Hopefully less windy this year. My face died from wind sheer

Do you think I can pass off any of my cars as a super car so I can get to do a couple of flying laps :-)

Will aim to bring Pedro and leave Killer at home then, unless Claire is back from Antarctica and fancies driving Pedro, then I can bring both

Is that a request for the spinny video? Well since you ask...here's the full lap

Not me, I wasn't in the car. I did have a lap in the Atom but with a more professional driver at the wheel ;-) Awesome acceleration!

You missed the re-edit of that clip Chris:

Cool, i'll be starting the attendance list in the new year....donating is easy, turn up, pay the entrance fee (all of which goes to the charity) and then pay for as many rides as you want.

you can actually book online at the childrens trust

Nice one Ian, it may be tough to get the golf on the track but i'm sure i can get you in somewhere.

i've been toying with the idea of having a 'hooning and honing' type event so people can get a feel for the handling of thier cars, we might be able to sort it on the day itself, cone off an area, get a couple of instructors in and brand it for roadcraft. people could then pay say £20 for 10 minutes of 1-1 instruction around a coned handling track?

still in the idea stage at the moment.
