The Irish are heading for Stelvio .....

A group of folks off www.octane.ie set off on a hoon today.

They're heading for a lot of the sights they heard me raving on about after my trip on the FB5K Alpine tour in '06.

They will be tackling Stelvio on Tuesday so if any of you are keeping an eye on the Stelvio web-cam http://webcam.popso.it/stelvio.php?PASSOEST you may just see them.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it with them but I do plan to get back on the roads of Europe in '09.

Perhaps we could have a large Irish contingent on a PN trip next year.

There's not much pics on there yet (a few practice ones by the look of it) but then again they did spend 18 hours on a ferry from Rosslare and only arrived in France this morning.

I agree with you about hearing about someone going there making you want to go as well.

The same happens to me.

Hopefully they won't have any issues with snow when they get there.

I was out in the Cerbera today and there was a load of standing water on the roads and it was pretty treacherous so I can only imagine what it'd be like tackling Stelvio with snow on the road.
