    Default Dream Cars

Mazda or Maserati, Fiat or Ferrari, Lada or Lambo? We all love our cars, that's why we're here but, money no object, what would you run out and buy tomorrow??

Veyron? Enzo? I met a guy at the Ace earlier in the year with 2 of each, I thought he was joking, apparently not. If he's reading this then, this question isn't directed at you, we know the answer "all of them".

I always like to be a bit different. Having something unusual is more important to me than horsepower or performance. Modern mechanicals are good and it needs to have a decent amount of power but I like classic lines too.
So un-surprisingly I stopped in my tracks when I saw this baby at the Goodwood revival last year:

replica Aston Martin DBR2 with 3.4 litre straight 6 Jag engine. It's not too far out of my reach either so maybe one day you'll see it on the Ace car park. Quite fancy a brushed aluminium body on it though and that'll push the price up

Although, as I like boats too maybe I should go for one of these

    This.

However, back on Earth, I've got a real hankering for a Maserati Ghibli II. I saw one last summer at a PN meet at the ACE.

    I love those things.

I am trying to justify buying one. At the moment I'm at the "Well, my mate owns fourteen Alfa Romeos, I only own two cars, so shirley one more makes no difference" stage.

I thought this thread might throw up some interesting cars

Blib, you can't own too many cars. I justify it by saying I'm doing my bit for the environment, after all I can only drive one at a time which means the others are off the road
I have cut down from 5 to 3 though. I once shared a house with a petrolhead friend and between us we had 9 cars....that really pissed off the neighbours as we lived in a small cul-de-sac and one of his was a huge Lincoln continental!!

Actually I kind of like this too. It's a maserati concept car that ran at Goodwood a few years back. Does anyone know if they ever produced any??

Was sitting on the deck of my boat when one of those amphicars came cruising past asking where the slipway was - very cool! Grabbed my camera and took a few pics of him in the water and driving up the slipway. On film though, not sure if I ever got round to scanning them. If i find them I'll post them.

not sure about the GT40, don't they drop down the cool wall once Clarkson buys one

Well that was a new version one , I'm more worried about the Noel Edmonds connection , do you have to have dodgy taste in shirts and jumpers to drive one ?? It is stunning that Aston isn't it ?

Whilst I'd have 100's in reality, these 2 are at the top of my list for oldies.

Ooo, I like the sound of that

Dan I would find garage space for either of those (and I don't have a garage)

Was walking round Goodwood when a friend of the friend I was with called him over to have a go in this one. I have this shot of it as my desktop pic; beautiful car.

Also, note the first shot of my video from the PN "Dad's Day Out" earlier in the year

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFR1Y...eature=channel

Lady owner had her boyfriend polishing it - good girl She told me it was a replica with the same engine as my Sebring, 3 litre Nissan straight six. The real ones were going for about £3million last time I looked. Personally I'd be terrified to drive something that expensive, would rather have a replica I could let rip in without worrying about it ....probably handles better too
