As the title says time to remember those stars/celebs we still miss , we have lost a few this year but also so many in previous years , and some way before their time - please add your nomination and a brief comment. I'll kick off with a few of mine.

Richard Beckinsale - So young when we lost him and such a character in Porridge , left us with two great daughters Kate and Samantha.

John Peel - Legendary innovative music DJ of the last few decades , gave so many their first break in the music business.

Bobby Robson - A true gentleman football manager and a leader with great dignity that we seem to be sadly lacking in the current era.

:drool5:

Also

Les Paul - pretty much creator of the electric guitar & multi-track recording. Music as we have it now would not exist without him.

Michael Jackson - apart from the odd 'personal' hiccups, massively influential, pop music would not have been the same.

Don't forget:
Patrick Swayze ----- "she's like the wind......."
Kieth Floyd
Danny La rue
Molly Sugden
Farrah Fawcett
Ted Kennedy

and

Douglas Adams.. we would never have sassed that hoopy without him.

James Dean that little Porsche had a name didn't it ?

Barry Sheene just unforgettable , an icon of the 70s

James Hunt lived his life to the full I guess you could say , never short of an opinion.

still thinking about Kate Beckinsale , where's my copy of underworld ?

I'm not a follower of "celebrity" at all but I will add George Best to the list.

I am not a football fan and I know the man had a bit of a rep but I used to work with him on a weekly basis and he always had a kind word. I can only judge people on personal experience and I thought George was a lovely man, a pleasure to work with (even though he would occasionally skip out for a pint and not be seen again that day), an absolute gentleman and very much missed around the Sky corridors.
