Run................... now you've got my attention :bigear: Though i'm only 30 miles from the Castle so will only catch the tail end of it. I'm guessing you may be coming off the M11 at my junction (8a) so could tag along from there :D

Am going to be cheeky and add myself to the list as others have done ;) as Angelis hasn't had a chance to respond to my request as yet :)

It seems there are a few owners who want to come along to this event, but haven't got the "required" vehicle for this event (please don't take offence at my choice of words).

I've therefore allocated a large parking area along the driveway by the lake for non supercars cars. This is the supercar overflow area.

Directions
Be careful if you have a TOMTOM. Mine sent me to the castle via small country lanes.

What's going to happen:
We'll be parking the cars around the Castle. It will be an opportunity to meet and chat with other owners and enthusiasts.

Invited:
Various supercars and sports cars.

Parking availability :
We can accommodate around 100 cars around Castle itself (see map below). If that gets filled out, then additional cars will be parked along the main driveway and on the grass by the lake. So it pays to get there early if you can.

Parking for other cars
There is parking available for visitors in the Castle grounds.

What if it rains
The grass area around the castle has very good drainage, so even if it rains the ground will be firm. NOTE: The weather forecast is dry for Sunday so rain shouldn't be an issue.

OPENING TIMES
Gates open: 10:00am
Gates close: 5:00pm

ADMISSION PRICE
Supercar & Sporstcar owners: £7 (includes driver and all passengers)

OTHER VISITORS
Adults £8.00
Concessions £7.00
Children £6.00
Family - £28.00

Please note: I as the organiser am not taking are taking any payment for organising this event. All admission fees go towards the Castles ongoing renovation.

FACILITIES ON SITE
- Picnic tables
- Toilet Facilities (including disabled toilets)
- First aid in Castle

CATERING FACILITIES

Food van - Providing burgers, jacket potatoes etc
Outside bar - serving Pimms, beer, wine, soft drinks (if good weather also ice cream)
Tea room inside the Castle itself serving Hot Drinks & Home Made cakes.

VISIT THE CASTLE
The Castle Keep will be open to visitors on the day and access is included in the entrance fee. Please feel free to take a tour around the building.

IMPORTANT PARKING WARNING
Please be careful when driving on the grass as there are a few dips in the grounds which can cause low cars a problem. I've driven my lowered Ferrari 348 around it and not had a problem. But drive slowly.

NOTICES - Please ensure you read the following

Please do not wheelspin on the grass on purpose.
No leaflets are to be handed out or placed on cars unless they have permission from the organisers. Anyone found doing so may be asked to pick them up and then asked to leave the Castle grounds.
Please listen to the Marshals. They are there to help you.
All Marshals are doing this for free and sacrificing their time to ensure that everybody enjoys themselves on the day. Anyone disrespecting the Marshals in anyway will be ejected from the grounds immediately.

If you have any problems
Please contact one of the Marshals who are wearing the fluorescent vests.

I believe there may be some groups leaving for the Castle from various locations, one of them being Brentwood. Others will post up details shortly. If not, why not organise your own convoy.

Well that changes things somewhat. I was going to go to Goodwood Breakfast Club as I didn't think my car would be welcomed but if Killer (Sebring SX) can come then I'll join him. It's being able to join in that makes an event fun for me, spectating is boring :(

.......I might even polish him, failing that I'll open the bonnet and show off the shiny new megasquirt system!

I'm still debating between this and breakfast club, I may be swayed by a run up there and a tunnel or 2 though, only if I have killer back in time though....I don't think you'd want to convoy with me and Pedro! Killer is currently having a Megasquirt system fitted which should make him a lot faster, he's still a 17 year old semi-classic beastie but it'll be interesting to see how he measures up with his new bits :D
I'm at Cherstey so would normally go the other way on the M25 but given the roadworks and 50mph average speed limit most of the way round there at the moment, I'm happy to go Dartford route......plus it's a tunnel ;)

I suspect there are already runs being organised by the Ferrari and Lamborghini owners clubs if anyone is on their forums maybe we could join forces.

OK, Who's up for a run to the Castle?

Now I live near Reigate, which normally means I would go round the M25 to Dartford and through the Tunnel, but Its a bit boring by myself :(
So anybody got any ideas?

If there's a few of you going from the West side of London, could always meet just off the M25 somewhere?

Now that Amit has let the cat out of the bag as to where the Italian convoy is heading off from................ maybe we could plan an ambush :rofl: :D........... though we may be outnumbered ;)

Well If people are going to get out of their pram over a couple of PN invited members teaming up with another convoy, personally I think that's a bit sad :(

I'm respectful enough to follow on behind so as not to break up your convoy, Just thought some company on the way up to the castle would be better than a solo journey!

I would not expect exact details over the Internet.

Happy to run at the back too. What I usually do on runs is mount a camera on the roll bar and move through the pack to get shots of everyone, thought Sy may have found the extra footage useful for his Fgear TV coverage but I could do with a day off of cameras so happy to leave it at home if it upsets people.

The reason the convoy has not been publicised as yet is because i'm still sorting out the details, times, route etc. (and i'm still trying to make sure I can actually go and lead it)

As far as i'm concerned anyone who is going to the castle is welcome in the convoy.
(that also goes for andrew. who will simply be grinning right now because he's managed to wind you guys up)

I assume andrew will be bringing the porsche or the lotus on sunday then?

just to clarify, my intended points were :

there are very few opportunities for the lambos to run together, and i'm frustrated that we've lost two of these already this year

other italians don't enjoy mixed convoys or even mixed events : sadly this will reduce their attendance

i enjoy the mixed convoys as much as anyone, but once in a while it's really special to run in your own herd

nothing sinister was intended and those of you who know me know just how down to earth i really am

sadly i won't be convoying with you anyway as i'm on early start marshalling duty again this year, hopefully not at a filter point !

Are you really suggesting that some drivers will arrive at Hyde park and turn round and head home if there is a non-italian car there? If they're really that far up there own arses then I'm surprised they let you in with a grey car, shouldn't it be orange or purple or green?

I know plenty of people with Italian cars and I don't know any that share that attitude. Most of them love my cars whichever one I'm driving because they are unique and not part of a "herd". One example being when I showed up at the Pistonheads BMW HQ meet in my Baja last weekend. I wasn't quite sure how a Beetle would go down amongst the flash stuff, then someone sent me this link:

fwiw the grey car has been relegated to the public car park before now, on the basis that it's not a ferrari : i respected the organiser's perogative, but obviously had a little smile when it attracted as much favourable attention as the official displays :D

as i say, i'll be avoiding the filter points this year because wherever sy draws the line there'll be frank dialogue : last year i believe we turned away everything from a caterham 7 to an historic fire engine !

And a large American semi truck who had turned up to the wrong meet. :D

Last year it was only Ferrari/Lambo's as it was the first time we'd done it and were limited to just 100 cars around the Castle.

This year, the number of Ferarri/Lambo owners who've signed up is less although lots more will turn up anyway without putting their name down. Plus we have an extra parking area along the drive which we can use.

The map below shows the PN/PH parking area.

To clarify...

The upper parking area around the Castle is for Ferrari, lambo, Aston, Spyker, Noble, Lotus etc

Lower parking area highlighted in grey is for other sports cars and interesting vehicles. It will also be used for the supercars we can't fit in the upper parking area.

We'll have a Marshall at the gate who will decide who goes where. Please don't argue with him as he'll call for me and I don't really want to be walking up and down that driveway. :sshh:

Would anyone from PN like to help out with Marshalling that area? Involves helping people park up so taht no one else is blocked.

Was going to offer to stick a camera on my roll bar and video the run for you, as I assume you'll be up at the castle early, but if people are going to get funny about a non-italian being in the mix I won't be able to do that and will just sit at the back.

I go to quite a few meets and never see or hear anything rude like that. Everyone is happy to play together so bring your "killer" :yes:

Besides, the Lambo's are German, not Italian :D

I wont be at any convoys unfortunately as i'm a marshall which means a very early start as i'm travelling up with the boss (Sy) :coolgleamA:

Anton, me too............... but a lot of the cars we'll be keeping an eye on will be arriving in our convoy so you might aswell join us at Hyde Park for the Run down :D

Been home about 3/4 hr, what a great day, thanks for the run up there, and the company on the way home :thumb: Decided to head back through London on the A1 Swiss cottage across oxford st, Park lane, HPC, Kinghtsbridge and back home across Chelsea bridge! Saw a chrome Veyron in Knightsbridge, Bloody hell what a nightmare, the traffic was gridlocked! to make it worse, the air con needs re gassing so it was blowing HOT AIR! Had to get out of the car at Chelsea bridge to cool off.

Sorry I lost you Harsh, on that roundabout, I was not paying attention to the road signs and Laurie shouted at me we were past the red line on the fuel gauge so I went round the roundabout and stopped at the shell station ;)

Should have some rather good video footage ;) I will let you know how it comes out :thumb:

So I now know why they install speed cameras. I like to think of them now as sprint cameras :D
