Bromley Pageant of Motoring is still the biggest one-day classic car show in the world!

Sunday 13th June 2010

Bromley Pageant of Motoring, the world's largest one-day Classic car show, is back for 2010 and will be promoted under the Classic Car Weekly Banner.

The Pageant is an institution amongst enthusiasts from all over the world. Where else would you find more than 3,000 classics in one place! It is a superb celebration of this wonderful way of life - a true flavour of a by gone age - and provides one of the best opportunities available to soak up Bromley's unique atmosphere of friendly club stands, displays and fellow enthusiasts.

This year's Pageant is building on previous years and promises to be better than ever. Already a great day out for enthusiasts, owners and families the show is now bigger than ever before with our biggest attendance yet in 2009 (almost 30,000 visitors!).We see vehicles from Ford Escorts to Ferrari on show at the event and in 2010 we will be welcoming the Aston Martin Owners Club who are celebrating 75 years and also celebrating 100 years of Alfa Romeo at the show.

We'll be there en masse as per usual, so let us know if you would like to be a prt of our stand.

I'm working, I'm working pretty much every day at the moment so that I can have the time off for the Viking tour(thought I had that covered ages ago but rosters girl made a mistake :(). Mark is also working 7 days a week in a very busy workshop so can't bring Pedro either.

Doh..

Since I was in Finland I think I have been affected by which way north and south are...maybe it is due to some magnetic attraction. Nothing that a Viking Tour won't fix

Fiona
06-06-10, 15:03 PM
Well, I'm absolutely not going to be able to make it. No chance of getting the day off work I'm afraid so that may re-jig the car numbers, I'm waiting to hear from Pete whether he wants to take Pedro for me and Ben the S4? I guess he's not paying attention to this thread and I may have to do that old fashioned thing of picking up the phone!!

the details for the day are...

Nancy has one car pass and two 'people' passes for you

we have to get there by 8.30am and are meant to stay all day (although last year some started leaving at around 2-3pm)

it mean you get free entry to the show and it is a rather large show as well!

nancy will be along with some details of where and when to meet (once we've worked that out!)

Excellent!

It won't be the Hawk though, unfortunately. I'll be bringing the 4200 if that's OK?

Hello people!

As the Bromley Pageant is at Norman Park (Hayes Lane, Bromley), we think Clacket Lane Services (M25 Eastbound, GPS: 51.273541N, 0.039032E) would be the best place to meet so that we can distribute show passes and pile into the pageant together.

<iframe width="850" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&amp;source=s_d&amp;saddr=51.273541N,0.039032E&amp;dad dr=&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;gl=uk&amp;mra=ls&amp;sll=51.38985,0.032 57&amp;sspn=0.011596,0.03077&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=51.273541,0.03 9032&amp;spn=0.006295,0.010063&amp;output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&amp;source=embed&amp;saddr=51.273541N,0.039032E&amp;d addr=&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;gl=uk&amp;mra=ls&amp;sll=51.38985,0.0 3257&amp;sspn=0.011596,0.03077&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=51.273541,0. 039032&amp;spn=0.006295,0.010063" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>

Public arrival is at 0900, which means we will need to get there by 0815 latest.

Nancy and I will be setting up a stand, so ideally we'd like to depart from Clacket Lane Services at 0730. If you can all be there by 0720 :sleepy:, we can then distribute your car and passenger passes before arrival.

If you have any difficulties getting to Clacket Lane Services, do let us know and we'll do our best to meet you en route.

Attached below is a TomTom ITN file for your delight and pleasure.

Ok! I will see you both there! Do we bring Picnic supplies or are there food places at the show?! If you need me to bring anything or take anything home (and bring it back at the ace the next day) I have the DS for this so plenty of room!

Harsh
08-06-10, 19:39 PM
There is food there, but it of varying quality.

also last year they ran out of water and it was hot
so assuming this year is warm too, i would suggest a cool bag with various items of your own choice :)

08-06-10, 22:50 PM
Clackets it is then :D

I'll be coming around clockwise......... which will put me on the wrong side........... i assume looking at that map that there is a way of crossing over to the Eastbound side  Rather than going up to the next junction and coming back :)

Edit: Just looked closer and Clacket Lane does run over the Motorway but hard to tell if that's a footbridge or roadbridge :(

Another Edit :D Instead of stressing about it like an old woman i'll just leave 10 mins earlier.......... go up to Jct 6 and come back ;) Simples..........

The back gate to the eastbound side does cross the M25, unfortunately it's only a staff entrance and there's no way to open it. I've tried!

That's the only way to do it J, I've had to do that myself some time ago.

Check post above if you missed the ITN file. :)

Whats up Elliott?

Unfortunately, real life has decided that I need to do grown up stuff instead of enjoying myself.

With age comes -sometimes unwanted - responsibility.

Rest assured, I won't be at The Ace at about 6pm on Monday.
