Supercar Sunday - Gaydon 27th June [Archive]

For the last 2 years running, we have had the biggest stand at Gaydon so i see no reason why we shouldn't make it a hat trick!

we can organise free entry in exchange for displaying your car on the stand.
We're working with Club Scuderia, Scudrunners and the Lamborghini club to make it a very special event indeed.

we will of course be organising a run beforehand so we can gather everyone together and arrive in true style.

so if you want to be a prt of it....put your name down!

I've got a bunch of spaces specifically for Petrolhead Nirvana members and we'll have some interesting metal around us too from some of the other guys i'm helping out.

The plan is to meet at the Ace Cafe London (NW10 7UD) at 7am and leave there at 7.30am

This unusual enough? Not what you call a 'Standard' Boxster S .... It's a 2008 Limited Edition ..... sold only in the US, one of 250 examples.... The only one to make to the UK and indeed Europe .... running Dymags for wheels and that's just the bits you can see.

There's a Guinness World record attempt going on for the largest number of Yamaha YZFs in a procession. So anyone with an R1, R6, R7 or even a little R125 should bring it along.

No offence taken if an old Escort doesn't really fit the bill as there is Time Attack @ Brands as a plan B but i do like to partake of new things and Gaydon would be a first for me :D

bumping this one back up.

supercars are not just fezzas and Lambos,

this year, mustangs, vipers, corvettes, maseratis and Astons will be part of the display.
Pedro was there last year so as long as it's unusual i'm happy to consider it for the PN stand.

let me know what you've got!

I think that a certain mg also managed to be on the display, not sure how that happened though!

Mr dreamshack has the XJS and the amount of work that needs doing I dont think I will be even close to getting it back so nothing intresting from me, but I fancy a drive up!

Best when I had the Westie as I then got the girlfriends of the lads going out in the supercars - doesn't always pay to have a supercar :D

Really in a Quandry as to wether to do this one or not now :confused: Given that not being in a Supercar may get relegated to the public car park for this........ and so much else being on offer on the same day :o

The thought of a double header is quite appealing............ early Run down to Goodwood again and may get a few together for a set leaving time for a Blast up to Sunday Service............ Hmmm, decisions decisions :D

There are not enough Sundays in the week are there :p

I think the chances are that non supercars will be in the main car park (Gaydon are a little more strict than i am in terms of what i class a supercar!

Plus i'm limited on numbers to a certain extent so it may be that the other two options would be better.
that said if we do have space you'll be welcome as always.

I've taken Anton Chris, wiggwam and Julian off the display list as i dont think Gaydon consider the MGf, MX5 or cossie supercars so they'll shout at me :(
However, I will ask Gaydon to see if we can have an 'interesting cars' area for non supercars.
I'll still try and sort free entry and of course you'll be part of the convoy as well - it's not my call on this one sadly :(

The display spaces are for Supercars only as decided by Gaydon. non supercars will be asked to park in the main car park.

We're waiting with baited breath for the passes and wristbands to arrive through the door this week. Either way, we will be distributing them at the Ace Cafe and LHW. Failing that, we'll be regrouping outside the museum to hand them out.

Last year, we had to distribute everything at the entrance, so that we could all pull in at the same time to organise the display.

Either way, I'll see you at LHW. :)

Ok, this is the update of the list.

I've taken Anton Chris, wiggwam and Julian off the display list as i dont think Gaydon consider the MGf, MX5 or cossie supercars so they'll shout at me
However, I will ask Gaydon to see if we can have an 'interesting cars' area for non supercars.
I'll still try and sort free entry and of course you'll be part of the convoy as well - it's not my call on this one sadly

The display spaces are for Supercars only as decided by Gaydon. non supercars will be asked to park in the main car park.

Hi. I'm a new member on here and have been in contact with Harsh who was organising some passes etc on behalf of the Mustang Owners club. These have or will be posted with the Petrolhead Nirvana tickets and then posted to me. As its getting to the point that time is running out to get them to me so I can send them out to other Mustang Owners club members can I collect them from LHW on Sunday morning and then arrange to hand them out to other members when they arrive at Gaydon?
Also if they don't turn up at all will members of the Mustang Owners club be able to get into Gaydon on the day by saying they are members of the Petrolhead Nirvana group?

bearing in mind you don't have 12 in the mustang group then you're more than welcome to join the PN group and ensure you get in that way.

Took the car to a local jet wash and washed off all the Le mans dirt today :( I did not bother taking my phone with me as it was only meant to be a short trip! Then the central locking came on with the keys inside the car! :( Luckily there was a very nice man from the AA who lent me his phone so I could call home and get the spare set of keys out to me :)

So cars all clean now, and from now on I think I will keep a spare key with me ;)

Hey Matt, welcome to the madness!

As we're limited to Gaydon's judgement as to what's a 'supercar' or not, we cannot guarantee that you'll be able to display on our stand. We're already at the limit, and the other groups are marque-specific I'm afraid.

However, you're more than welcome to join our convoy up to Banbury, details of which are above. :)

Sounds like a plain to me . I know an elise isnt quite on the mark when it comes to supercars. If the worse happens ill just dump it in a car park :yes:

Supercars - e.g. McLaren F1, Bentley 4.5 litre supercharged, Ferrari, Lamborghini, GT40, Porsche GT1 and especially Aston Martin as they celebrate 75 years of their owners club.
Sports Cars - e.g. Jaguar XKR, TVR, MR2, Lotus
Performance Cars - e.g Subaru Impreza, Mustang
Any interesting, unusual or rare cars...

I would like to thank the Team at PN for sorting out all the tickets today and Nancy for leading us up the Motorway to Gaydon, It was good to meet new members and have a chat :) It was a shame the Football was on as a few people left early to watch the Defeat :D

We had a good run up until a minor breakdown, I pulled over to offer assistance along with Gilles. Sorry to say I could not catch up with you so enjoyed a solo run the rest of the way!

Hope you guys got the car home OK

Great run up from LHW, with an impromptu stop just before Oxford Services...
