View Full Version : Goodwood Breakfast Club 4th April 2010
The second Breakfast club of 2010 sees a classic theme return.
Sporting Family Favourites - Four seater fun!
My M3 will be in attendance as will whatever tour support car we have then....
it's normally a really good mix of fun cars..... M5's, Lotus carltons Mondials, 612's and Espadas..
who said 4 seats was boring?
the .itn file for the run is now available on this post.
to load to your TOM TOM just save the file to your computer,
connect your TOM TOM and drag the file into your .itn folder
then load the file onto your TOM TOM using 'itinerary planning' and you're good to go!
video from last months Breakfast club :)

I managed to convince the marshalls that the Sebring was a 4 seater last time but may play the game and bring the Sera this time, it's a 2+2.

Four Seater Fun - got that covered :) Though i've only ever had fun in one of them ;)
Wot no list  Gotta have a list................
I could bring my MX5 and attach some plastic chairs to the boot?! Or maybe not :(
Bachi, have you decided on the new car yet?
Bachi, have you decided on the new car yet?
I've decided on nothing....i like my stable at the moment, although we have sold the F150 and are in the midst of sorting out the deal on the Audi S4 avant.
hmm a list.
1. Harsh - M3
2. Fiona - Sera
3. KO993C4S - 993
4.
bear in mind your car doesn't have to be a 2+2 to come along on the run...it just means you'll be parked in the visitors car park. i should imagine as per normal it'll be rather fun looking at what turns up in there too.
Actually, the Sera's looking a bit shabby, think I'll bring the Baja instead as it still has all 4 seats. i suppose that leaves me driving at the back, arriving half hour after the rest of you! (all assuming I'm not working of course)

1) Can we try to avoid any pheasants please... the thought of having a 360 spider / CSL / MX5 / Enzo sex sandwich at 7.40am on a sunday isnt that appealing... ;-)
2) and can we also have the windy route there instead?
God I'm sooooooo demanding!!

No jokes about pheasants or pheasant pluckers please :D Seriously , its the foxes and badgers that do the damage and when you've tangled with a deer at any speed you view country roads slightly differently
I'm happy to bring back the windy route again....lets just hope there aren't too many in the list
dont want to lose anyone!

i suppose it's difficult to see if we've lost anyone, especially in your car... i hear visibility isnt that great with the roof up

Anyone for a pre-Guildford meet on the M25 ?
Either Clacket Lane Services or South Mimms whichever has the most interest, as i get on at Jct27 so Guildford is the same distance whichever way round i go......... give or take :)
Be nice to have some company on the way round.... helps to stop me nodding off

Sunday looks fine , a little on the chilly side but we can cope with that can't we? , Wheels day however looks to be a washout especially knowing that showground , an Easter meet needs tarmac in the UK.
Bachi will probably have to have his roof up though if it's a bit chilly ;)

Anyone for a pre-Guildford meet on the M25 ?
Either Clacket Lane Services or South Mimms whichever has the most interest, as i get on at Jct27 so Guildford is the same distance whichever way round i go......... give or take :)
Be nice to have some company on the way round.... helps to stop me nodding off

That would get us to the Cathedral with 30 mins to spare before the Goodwood departure........ enough time for a leg stretch and chin wag........ and a few pics :D

Bring the right car to the event , yours will be fine for this one , turn up early and turn left towards the marshalls after the Goodwood circuit gates. Alternatively Fiona seems to be able to get any car she turns up in into the arena , let her drive ? :drive:

Did feel bad for you this morning old chap :o it's bad enough when things go sour in private........ but to have an audience to your downfall is particulary painfull :leaving:
To be honest i doubt your the first and you certainly won't be the last to be bitten by a powerful wrong wheel drive car......... they certainly need a level of temperance to keep them on the straight and narrow in some circumstances... i.e ....... wet  and it does beg the question.... are Ford being irresponsible with the new even more powerful RS 500 version  they may be a car that could single handedly keep the breakers yard in business :o
I hope you can get the situation resolved without too much pain  as i need you on my display stand at Dunsfold :thumb:

UPDATE
i would appreciate that we sort of keep it to us on here and not apearing on other forums but iv just heard back from ford.
The RS Requires
1 x Wheel (front passenger side wheel has a small crack)
1 x Rad (hole in it)
1 x sump (Really Big Hole)
they are going to to some geometry alignment stuff as the impact appears fairly hard on the front passenger side.
but currently looking at £2500 ouch expensive lesson learnt.
all being well should have her back for the ace but there is a shortage on wheels in the uk :( so will have to wait and see.

Yes, the rear wing is very versatile............. handy place to put your sandwhich and can of pop :D On a sunny day you can tie your dog up under it so the poor pup doesn't get sunburn  and if you go down to the beach you can pop it off and stick it in the sand as a windbreak............ or even a surfboard  The list goes on :p

See thats what I thought it would be but if you read the small print of most insrance poilcies you have to tell then of every "loss" even if its not claimed for or even insured. (Which by the way I think is rediculously stupid since it doesnt affect them). They would count it into the premium for next year as though it was a claim, becuase you are higher risk. And if you dont tell them and they find out as part of the due diligence for another claim then they will cancel the insurance.
This doesnt only apply on car insurnace, I didnt beleieve it when I was on the phone with a guy from direct line home insurance and he told me that if I dropped a glass at home and broke it I had to tell them as that was a loss even though its nothing I would even want insurance for! Basically we are going the way of the US on insurance where insrance isnt fit for purpose.
