The ultimate in Car Control driver training.
For the Third year running, Roadcraft will be heading for the frozen lakes of Norway in February and March.
We have for you a Bespoke 2 day structured driver development programme for a group of 12 drivers.
If you are after the ultimate in car control, then there is only really one place to learn it, the frozen lakes of Norway, this isn't a winter rally school, this is expert car control, if you really want to feel what a car is like at the limit of grip, then this is the place for you, using a mix of Front wheel drive – Rear wheel drive and Four wheel drive cars. All of these cars are built especially for this training including the 2 Historic Porsche 911 Rally Cars, none of them have any electrical aids, so no ABS or ESP to get you out of trouble, it's all down to you, the driver. The team of instructors are experts in this area of training (including 2003 World Production cup Rally Champion Martin Rowe, and I’ll be there as well instructing).
So the surface, some companies advertise Ice driving, but you end up on a forest road that's covered in Ice and Snow, hey we can head to Scotland in the middle of the winter and do that in a Siansburys car park, no need to travel all the way to Norway. The surface we will playing on, It's a lake. Not a forest road with snow on, but the surface of a frozen lake. You will be driving at speed on a surface you can barely stand upright on using World Rally Car competition tyres. But it's not just a great big supermarket car park to slide pointlessly around on, it's a race track made from ice. Our tracks one is around 2kms long and the other faster one is 4kms long, 20 metres wide and are specially created from GPS co-ordinates each year to our own design It's just like a real racing circuit – but made from ice, M-Sport use this facility for there winter testing.
The package:
Will get you 2 full days on the Ice with experienced Ice Driver Trainers
2 Historic Porsche 911 Rally cars
4 fun cars (mix of front – rear – 4 wheel drive)
Hot lunch each day
Bed and Breakfast at a nice hotel by the Geilo Ski Resort
Transportation to and from the airport and the resort and to the driving facility each day
And a whole lot of fun, trust me!!!
We will spend 2 days at our location near Geilo.
Day one is full on, you will hit the frozen lake around 0900 after a briefing, you're into the cars with the instructors, you wont be heading back to the hotel until around 1700 (mainly due to the sun setting, so lack of light).
Day two, back to the lakes for more of the same, back into the cars to hone and consolidate everything you learnt on day one. Back in the evening for dinner. Stay overnight and depart back to the station for following morning.
The package includes: travel to and from the airport - 3 nights stay in a lovely hotel inc Breakfast – hot Lunch at the lake – full face helmets with intercoms. The only things not included are your evening meals and any extra's added to your room. The only other thing we don’t cover is your airline costs. There are regular flights to Oslo Torp airport and to Oslo Gardermone airport with a wide variety of airlines; both are equally convenient for access to the facility. The only thing we ask, is if we can all arrive at similar times, so we can arrange for our transportation to the hotel and facilities, which are around 120 miles away.
The cost for this will be in the region of £3000, we do need a minimum of 12 drivers to run this event.
This was an excellent event last year, if you think you might be interested in joining us this coming year (February or March) then bung a post up here with which month suits you best, we can then discuss dates and extra details. As soon as I get firm prices (should be later this week) I will post them up
