Just gauging a bit of interest for this really.

As some of you may know I am quite into my horse racing and i've got a share in a race horse.

So what I was wondering, if when he was running happened to be on a weekend at a course not to far north would any of you guys be interested in a run there and a day out at the races?

Usually you can get into the racecourses for a small fee. I may be able to provide some owner and trainer badges to get access most areas (these are usually about £15)

He is due to run next Saturday (providing the handicapper doesn't raise him again next week) but most of you will be away on the Alpine tour so the next time he is likely to be out running will be August.

If you'd be interested in going or have any questions let me know...

Sounds like a great idea Ollie.

I'd like to go myself,

there'll still be some folk around next saturday so i'd say it was worth posting up details

Well he'll be running at Market Rasen in Lincolnshire on Saturday, but it doesn't look like i'll be able to make it anyway due to other commitments that weekend.

So i'll definitely put down the details of the next time he runs.

Okay, while my horse takes a leave of absense due to injury and the down time in the jump season calendar, there is a flat event on at Goodwood on the afternoon of the next breakfast club on the 30th August.

The event is accessible from £9 per person(I'd recommend the £21 tickets but if the general consensus is cheap seats that is fine also) with a £5 per car fee for parking. There is no formal dress requirement in either of the 2 stands i've mentioned above.

The event has 7 races running from 2.10pm until 5.40pm.

So as to gauge interest i'll start a provisional list.

1. Jumplead - Either ticket type
2. Malteser - Either ticket type

Time to have another go at this. There is a 6 card jump race meeting at Towcester races on Sunday 25th October. At the moment there doesnt look to be any of my horses running there that weekend but it's a good day out and even better it is at the only FREE entry race course in the country!

My suggestion would be a midmorning hoon, probably starting from Toddington or Northampton services on the M1, ending up at Towcester for around 12:15-12:30.

First race of the day is 13:20 with 5 others following. Last race will be 16:20.

As to gauge interest i'll start a provisional list.
