I have a friend from my own owners' club (who has met lots of you at our Ace nights already) who would like to extend an invite to you guys to Santa Pod on the 8th of August.

I know this isn't everyone's bag, but equally, I know some will have hankered to put some real-world figures on your quarter-mile times. I for one have never been on the strip before - but with this very friendly bunch of people, I could be persuaded to go.

The Supra Owners Club have booked exclusive use of Santa Pod Raceway for an entire day, and have passed the savings onto us: £65 per car with an additional £10 for spectators and passengers. Because of the group booking, there's no limit to how many times you can have a go.

Plus, for an additional £35, you can have a go in a dedicated drifting area for a bit more fun.

The guys have expressed lots of interest in meeting more enthusiasts from all walks of Petrolhead life, so this is by no means an us versus them affair (unless you want it to be :))

If you'd like to go, do put your name down and I'll pass you on to Lui, who will do the rest for you.

This sounds like fun!

i assume it's a mile long?

or is it just quarter mile? If it's just a quarter then i think i might need to break out the Atom!

Santa Pod is a quarter mile strip - it's a good, clean, well maintained track. The guys have also arranged for catering and a tyre change service to be present. The group booking also includes insurance which covers cancellation due to bad weather, so I'm told.

There are 20 places still going, and anything is welcome.

This does seem a little expensive as for a public day is £10 for admission and £25 to sign on for unlimited runs. £40 for the privilege of not waiting so long between runs is a little high if you ask me. Not moaning, just thinking out loud...

It is good to see what your car has and to draw a comparison between others though. :)
