View Full Version : Ferry / Tunnel
Richard has suggested it makes sense to try and block book the crossings...be they tunnel or ferry..
good plan..
i think St malo might be the way forward so we can enjoy the back roads.
whos up for a block booking and where do you want to go from/to?

Yes,
Would prefer a ferry with a lot of other enthuiasts. Time to chat with others and the general banter of it seems a bit more personal than the chunnel. Part of the fun of Le Mans for me is the N138 experience on the Thursday, the mass movement of brits down to Le Man for the weekend.
The last time we went, we crossed on P&O
ETA: I'm happy to go whichever way though
Three of us, 997 C2, Noble and Chim are taking the 07:00 Dover to Boulogne on Wednesday 10th. I'm looking at a 270 mile route that will avoid ALL motorways, and Rouen! with some great looking driving roads. www.ldlines.co.uk will see you with a £40 return ticket
Let me know if you want to join us - the more the merrier :-)

Nice idea David - let us know what you've got planned. Meanwhile, I'll talk to Team PN and see if we'll join you on LD lines! :) I think we were considering a Thursday drive down though...

I have a draft TomTom itinierary file, which can be viewd using Tyre software, get it here: http://www.janboersma.nl/gett/index.php.
I would attach the file, but i can't see how to do it, so i'm happy to send if you mail me at
david_hughes at hotmail.com
Bear in mind this is a "work in progress" route, but it will give you a general idea of our plans. It does take you right to the TL campsite though, so i recommend using teh final waypoint :)

Thanks a million Dave. Would you mind mailing it to me so I can have a gander?
I've also noticed that LD lines has only one return ferry at 4.15pm on Monday... how are you guys working around this?
