Avatars

Not sure if this has been asked before, but. . . .

I don't seem to be able to give myself an avatar.

The user CP bit, after clicking on the "edit avatar" link doesn't appear to have an option for uploading one.

It just says "Do not use an avatar" and doesn't give an alternative option.

I've spoken to robin...
he says the following...

Avatars are a nightmare for bandwidth, however once you've been on a tour he'll assign one to you.

that means nothing to me, but he's a techie so i lost him after 'its as simple as this............'

Think of bandwidth as the trip round the north circular, and Avatars as a nasty accident on the north circular snarling up everyone elses trip.

Then when we go on tour we get the special avatars 'emergency blues and twos' if you will. To keep us moving along our journey.
