This email arrived today:

Anybody involved in motorsport should read this.

A petition has been submitted to number 10 in an effort to get the government to take action in allowing activities that generate noise, such as motorsport, to continue to do so providing that they have been present in a community for a longer period of time than the residents who complain about them.

Please sign the peition by following this link: http://petitions.PM.gov.UK/livewithit/

It is unlikely that this will make any difference but definitely worth a try. Forward this email on to all of your contacts and we will see if we can make a difference.

Have these activities already been banned then or is there an act going through which will ban them??

If not why the need for the petition??

Do you think cars have been driving through Beech Street at night longer that the residents who live there have lived there??

There is a newish resident whose house backs onto the straight after Surtees at Brands Hatch is trying to wage a one man war against the noise generated by the circuit. MSV have tried to buy his house off him at above the market rate and tried all sorts of activities to work with him but he won't have anything to do it.

Sorry mate but you moved next to an International standard motor circuit - it might get noisy every once in a while. Live with or move. Don't stay and just try and shut them down.

I think this is a new guy who's been there for about 3 years - could be wrong though. Just I know a couple of the guys that work there and it seems that this new threat is gaining a bit of credibility unfortunately
