... or that's what I'm telling Mrs Don1!

Please meet my new winter toy. 'Bob' is a bobtailed pickup Range Rover. 35" Mickey Thompsons (I think!), rock sliders, full cage, diff and steering guards, CB (breaker, breaker etc), a V8 and lots of mud already there, with a lot more added already in the three hours I've had it.

If you need any help/advice with it give me a shout, I have owned prepared and worked on these things for decades.
It looks well sorted enough though! Just watch the arches on the tyres, looks like they still have sharp edges where they were cut back.
Have fun:D

My son says you have very good taste..............he loves a Land Rover/Range Rover. Trouble with too many toys is finding the time to drive them all.:)

Cheers all! I've spent a little time today starting to sort stuff and make a list of things that need sorting... The list isn't huge, but will require new skills for myself (suspension brushes that came with it for example), so that's going to be good to learn.
I think this is going to be a bit of a giggle!

You will need a press (or a strong vice) for the knocking out the old bushes chap, easy to do though. I guess you have a polybush kit to go in?

Yep, came with it. The old ones are dead though...

If you get stuck just bring the arms down to me and use my press chap. However, being as you are now a bona fide landy owner you may want to consider GATHERING TOOLS - lots of tools :D:D:D - And kiss goodbye to clean fingernails.
they are worth it though, great fun.
Buy yourself a grease gun and do all the prop joints etc, and change the oil in the axles, it will be full of muddy water if it has been offroaded, save yourself a world of heartache.

Right, this is all news to me! I'll make sure I start buying tools and knowhow, and we'll go from there. Do you accept beer in payment? ;)

Dont worry, I am resigned to poverty (and damn we iz poor , we beg off the local church mice for scraps), for minor stuff I accept banter in payment:)
Might be worth you bringing it down for a chat and a look over and I will point you in the right direction - with these things it is mostly about prevention. People dont seem to realise how complicated and clever 4wds are.
extra gearbox, extra driving axle, etc etc,all reliable if maintained, but they never are...
Get it up together now and you can have fun with it without the headaches:)

Bizarelly enough, he looks like a mini Unimog! What you can't really see is the size - the bob tail top is about chest level on me, and I'm 6ft 3...

Well, time to get mud on him!

I did give him a really good wash so Mark Dreamshack wouldn't be totally showered in crap when working on him, and then I carried on to make sure the paint wasn't knackered.... But you're right!

I see what you did there Don...

...the purchase is now justified by it's ability to haul logs from the woods to the fireplace!

Genius!
