its a 1998 with 135,000 on the clock, but it had a new engine put in which actually has just under 80,000 miles on it.

extras:
it has racing cams in the engine (Kent Pt 51 Cams),
has a 4 to 1 manifold
exhaust system LongLife
remapped ecu
new engine mounts,
new discs and pads.
Spax Suspension
Race Gear Linkages
Front Strut Brace
2 sets of wheelies
also recently had new driveshafts, and other bits and peices.

all for the lowly price of £700

Must say a HUGE thanks to Ian @ Roadcraft for going to check it out for me also!!! really appreciated!!!! xxx

Ahhh I had a budget of £1000 and any decent mk2 golf with a 16v lump was going for ni on £800 and was a rust bucket and would need lots of prep for the track... this is newer and i don't need to do THAT much inorder to get it track ready...

hopefully this wil be more gokart esq and i won't hopefully fall in love with it as much as I would a golf... :( I miss my mk1 :(

Also it should be fairly user friendly :)

You can get rid of the Polo with a hole in its fuel tank now and use the 106 as a commuterwagon too :D

Bedford do some evening meets, sign on at 15.30 ish. My first one is 21st May (evo mag).
Make sure your brakes are up to it otherwise you spend more time sitting around waiting for them to cool down! Mind you that could be a good thing, you could then blag a ride in some exotic machinery.:thumb:

well the Pug is totally stripped out, just need to start getting things like rollcage, buckets, harnesses etc. pictures are on facebook but i can't unfortunately get on facebook at work.

however I rather naively asked a certain Johnathon Wheatley (for those who don't know is our Race Team Manager) if he could help advise me on anything or put me in contact with anyone for sponsorship, discounts on parts etc. anyway he's agreed to meet with me to chat once he's back from Malaysia, how cool is that!!! Sorry but I was expecting a NO, obviously not in so many words ;) but you know big famous guy who has a little bit more on his mind than some girl and a track car, but nope, he said to come see him next week :D:D

First purchase is a pair of mirrors :)

and yes yes say what you like, next is seats and harnesses. will have to make a base plate for it but will do that at work :)

then i think general service for the beast.

then finally a rollcage i think :)

then awaiting news on some sabelt harnesses and will have to decide whether to tax and insure it... :)

but all things go go gooo...

If you don't tax and insure it, how will you get it to the track?

S3DUH
11-05-10, 13:07 PM
A Frame or on back of a flat bed... xx

verysideways
11-05-10, 13:20 PM
A-frame means the wheels of the track slag are still on the public highway which means you still need road tax (which means you also need MOT and insurance!).
Flat bed or car trailer would work a treat though, do you have a tow bar?

S3DUH

i have friends while VEEEEEHICLES I can borrow... yeah I know this my dilema. its MOT'd but nothing else as of yet purely because I'm being a tight arse! lol

verysideways

MOT and all that stuff is a pain, if it's a track slag just ditch the lights and stuff and get yourself a trailer. Save all that cash on MOT, tax and insurance.

Trailer is a good plan, then if you blow it up or prang it it isnt the end of the world trying to get back home...
Peace of mind about stuff like that means the potential for more fun trackside:)
