Ok, last night i'm driving home from work.

a bike pulls up next to me.

It's jet black, it has swept back (flat) handlebars and a 'sit up and beg' seating position.
the styling however looks like something i've not seen before.
very angular yet flat and low, the year lights looked slim but almost wrap around

very futuristic. sadly it was dark so i couldn't make out the name.

it sounded like a v-twin if that helps at all?

i'm going to go and browse

From your rather vague description i'd immediately think "Victory".

no, that's a little old fashioned, it had a fairing, that was what made it look futuristic

Oh jeez, i saw one of those in the showroom at George White's in Swindon - bloody massive thing!
It's like a squashed down Goldwing :)

680cc, 60bhp, 270kg dry (!)
Ouch!!
Honda build quality and reliability though.

I quite fancy this (no idea why!):

Just yesterday I was in Fowlers Motorcycles in Bristol and actually sat on the Honda Chop and had a close look at the DN01. Although I hated the look of the DN01 i'm impressed with the designers and Honda's bravery in trying to push the boundary of bike design....but its bloody horrible in the flesh!! The chop is just for me a basic design just to try and cash in on the current interest in this style. Only 300 are available in the UK. I would prefer to build a one off which is what Chopper's for me is all about.

Not sure about the looks - and even the guy riding it for the official pics seems far too tall for it...
Dan, you're too tall as well!

Keep on saerching... ;)

I've shrunk a bit since having bikes though :D

Will have a chat next time we meet up.

Oh, my "meeting" yesterday went well too ;)

How cool is that? Congratulations!!

A chat? Oh, that sounds a lot like: "I'll have to get Carol out this Harley thing and sell her a decent road bike"

:p

I'm short! I could ride it.....second thoughts maybe I couldn't, the one and only time I've ridden a bike I ended up in a Laos jungle with the bike on top of me! :leaving:

I wish i could ride my bike... trying to find a second hand rear brake caliper for a ZZR1100 is impossible. new one is £360.....which for a 15 year old bike is a lot. anyone out there got a Kawasaki ZZR1100 with a spare caliper????? always worth asking

What year is it?
Were there any significant rear brake caliper changes between the early and late models?
Presume you've been on ebay?

Found these four ZZR11's breaking for spares:

You know what ebay's like, you have to try a few different search terms sometimes to find what you're looking for.
Hope the links help.

Found a thread about upgrading the rear caliper:
http://www.zzr-international.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9364&p=78007

Could you just put a new piston and seals into your existing caliper?

Whats up with it?

Can't you strip it down and rebuild or is it beyond repair??
