Toying with the idea of taking Mrs J. down there later today maybe :) I know we have a few London'ers onboard so was hoping for a little local knowledge

Is it going to be a lost cause in the car that's just going to result in me getting hot under the collar :( i would imagine good parking is few and far between down there.......... not been in a while and i'm sure we went on the train last time but i'm not really in the mood for grubby public transport today  Probably pick up the Norovirus on the Tube knowing my luck

Bachi's place is in that area so i'm sure he can advise on the parking situation round there.

Best bet is to park near Chalk Farm tube and walk the 300 yards down to Camden market or park nr Kentish town tube and tube it one stop to Chalk Farm and stroll the 300 yardsif you can. If you don't know the area well. don't try parking within the vicinity of the high street, it'll be a world of pain.

Excellent.......... Cheers Robin :D Are we talking station car parks, on road, or are there NCP's at those locations

It'll be on road, no NCP's in the area plus no station parking at the tube. North London is somewhat squeezed in on top of itself. TBH, If you really want to avoid the frustration of parking in NW10, go to Brent Cross off the North Circular, park in one of 15,000 spaces and catch the tube 6 stops. :)

Whenever I've been down there i seem to get lucky with the parking, just turn off the high street and blunder into a parking space......some enterprising kids were organising parking on their school playground for a small fee once too. Seemed legit and my car was still there and in one piece when I got back. Haven't been for a while though and don't know the area well enough to give directions.....so I haven't been much help really have i! :)

The tube station is actually a good 10 min walk from the shopping centre and across the north circular, just park on the plentilful street parking near brent cross tube,
.... and avoid getting the car dented in the car park by one of the idiot stupid people that seem to populate brent cross shopping centre... (previous experience... Oh yes)

Decided to give the Tube a miss and punched in Camden Market on the TomTom and for some reason the machine thinks that the Market is on the doorstep of the Houses of Parliament  Dozy device

Finally got the nav to deliver us to Camden High St. where it redeemed itself by finding us a nice underground car park on Pratt St. ......... not a long walk to the market at all :thumb:

Quite nostalgic going into the indoor market at the Electric Ballroom as i've not been in there since the early 80's when i used to live in such places following the bands of the day............ and strangely enough most of the people in there were still dressed pretty much as they were back then
In fact the whole place doesn't seem so much different to what it was 25 years ago............ where else can you see a fella walking down the street in a bikers jacket, knee high boots and a pink Tutu....... and nobody bats an eyelid ........ and no that wasn't me

It's just a lot busier these days.............. still a good day out though :D
