But it's my mums birthday on the 21st and need to send her something. I don't get on with her at all so I'm struggling not to send her something nasty.

I'm thinking flowers but not sure? any suggestions, i dont want to spend over £35.

I'll pretend i'm not a boy for a minute.....

Flowers are the best generic gift and can be delivered so you dont actually have to see her, plus you can add a nice note as well.
(Sarah says flowers are a bit pants..... how about a chocolate flower combination from thorntons online)

or look at next maybe (clearly i failed at not being a boy!!!)

unfortunately she is lactose intolerant... I had thought about sending her lillys and lots of milk - both of which she is allergic, but some how I thought she might think i was trying to kill her off... which obviously i wouldn't be doing just making her poorly LOL

soooo mmm more ideas?

If you don't like her, why send anything?

My mum doesn't like flowers either. She says they're a pain cos you have to sort them out and then they die and you have to clean them up! Personally I do like them, they brighten the place up, make it smell nice and more importantly show that someone is thinking of you...but no one ever buys them for me :( They buy them for my mum instead who whinges about them :(

How about a small piece of jewellery? small and easy to post. or a gift voucher? or some perfume if you know which one she likes? I'm basically just listing the things I got for my birthday that might be suitable :D

My favourite present was a vintage wooden Nardi steering wheel but I bought that for myself so it doesn't really count and probably not something your mum would appreciate.

Ahh i always get her jewellery so put off the idea, however i did start making her a carbon charm for her links of london, though that was meant for her birthday last year LOL... mm gift voucher is a cop out though?

sigh maybe lactose free chocolate?! interesting...

thanks for the help guys!

and fiona, not sure she'd want a wooden steering wheel in her Audi, but the idea was definately worth considering ;)

thanks though :) xx

buy her something really nice......that will really freak her out!

I do it all the time, buy something nice and the other person who knows you dont like them starts to think that your up to something devious!
and you just get on with your life...works for me

well guys i managed to find some lactose free chocolates... so sending her them and a card... sooooo i guess thats sorted. could send flowers too but mmm...

think choosing the card was hardest thing everything is sooo mushy and nice... so i found a plain one that simply says Mum Happy birthday... Wow i am so mean, but hey ahh well... i wouldn't even pass her the time of day if she wasn't my mum.
