It was strange timing on the day I recieved this - a photograph of my Grandfather in the 30s next to the Frys chocolate delivery van he used , we hear another major British manufacturer has been sold off to the Americans , where does it all stop ? We only have a handful of car producers left , two major prem football teams are being ruined by the floundering ill intentioned owners , its always been dog eat dog in business - buy out the competition then control or close them down to dominate the market but we shouldn't make it SO easy for them surely ? Rant over...

what really annoys me is the owners at some point in time chose to sell these shares in the company, enjoyed the cash, then have the cheek complain that they can no-longer control the company !
I think you have missed the point here its a public company before it will be sold we dont know the nationality of the shareholders, if none were british then it wasn't a british company even before this.
In the same vien, the brits can go a buy kraft shares and own the new expanded group. It goes both ways.
Unfortunately the uk has a very dim view of entreprenurs so there are very few british people or firms going out there buying up foreign companies to counteract the same being done back home.
We can make it hard for them to do things like this; by converting to communism, then nobody can own anything and everything would be british!
