EVO test: the greatest supercars ever made?

We just found this video and had to share it with you: “McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40 Versus analogue rivals” (Link to the video at the end of this article :) ).

So what’s it all about? Seven supercars, the EVO triangle, it already sounds lovely!

The EVO team took these fantastic toys for a test drive, just to make us drool a bit and remind us why we love them (the cars, not the EVO team, I feel more jealousy than love for them right now *only kidding, love you guys!*). Anyway, what’s on the list? Ferrari F40, Noble M600, Lamborghini LP670SV, Pagani Zonda F, Ferrari F50, Porsche Carrera GT and McLaren F1! I had quite a few of them on posters in my bedroom as a kid.

First in this test: Ferrari F40. This car is just amazing. It looks perfect. If you’ve never driven a supercar before, it’s probably not the best to start with. It’s very engaging to say the least. Quite a hard car to drive, but the punch it delivers really worth it. It’s simply sensational!

Second car on the list: the Noble M600. This is the only new car in this test drive. Very smooth but impressively powerful.

Third to hit the road: the Lamborghini LP670SV. Four wheel drive, a “lovely” V12, it’s the only car in the group to have a paddle shift. I’ve always been into manual gears, old school, I feel more involved in the driving. But to be fair, this paddle shift works quite well, still lots of fun.

Then, they tried a Pagani Zonda F. Lots of effort put into this one. My favourite car interior! But there is much more to it than that. With its 7.3L V12 engine, driving this car (or even being a passenger) will be one of the best experiences of your life.

Another supercar, the Ferrari F50… this has to be in our Petrolhead Nirvana top 3. One of the best sounding cars we’ve ever heard. It belongs to our friend James. Lucky man… 530bhp V12, carbon chassis. Perfection.

What’s next? The Porsche Carrera GT! 5.7L V10. Very loud!

And last, but definitely not least, the McLaren F1. The second oldest car in this fantastic selection. This has to be the best supercar ever made! With its central seat, you really feel like you’re part of the car. Nothing more involving. As a driver, you have to work hard in this car, you have to earn it.

Any petrolhead would know the complete specifications of these cars, so we decided not to go into too much detail. What we want to know is; what do you think of this selection? Are they the best supercars ever built? If you had to make your own top 7, would you have picked other supercars?
